Human brain foundation is built through experience early in life Another study says that 90% of brain development is completed at age 5( 60 months) Many professional in liquistics and education from 0 to age 5 is the critical period in language development Also age 5 is the critical period for language intervention in children with language delay Children with specific language dealy catuch up their noraml peers with proper language intervention However, If children haven’t been intervened until age 5 and start speech therapy later their learning ability slow down and it is hard to catch up their normal peers English speaking countries like USA, British, Canada have good national system like regular language check-ups and speech therapist in kindergarden or schools. to prevent from missing the critical period How is like speech therapy in Korea in 2019? How do you feel when you heard that your child need speech therapy at first? Interview with parents on the way to home I called to my husband I just kept crying on the phone How did people respond around you? They said that your kid didn’t need speech therapy. So many people said same story. So I was embarassed and stressed out How do you feel now after your kids shows progress in his language I think I made right decision His grandparents also said that he should have started therapy earlier than tnow We all regret that we hesitatedto go to speech clinics We are all satisfied How does your life change the most after speech therapy?   1. 외국인들이 언어치료를 가볍게 생각하는게 너무 부럽네요. 저도 한국엄마처럼 고민과 갈등이 많았던것 같아요. 한국도 언어치료에 대해 긍정적인 인식이 대중화 됐으면 좋겠고, 그러길 간절히 바래봅니다. ^^

  3. 절대공감합니다.
    결정적시기를 놓치고 뒤늦게 찾으시는 부모님들 너무 안타깝죠.거의 대부분 어린이집이나 유치원에서 말씀드리기 어려운 이유도 그런부분이고요.집안의 어른들께서 "ㅇㅇ이도 말 늦었어.때되면 다해~"라고 하셔서 기다렸다고 하시거든요.
    '치료=장애'라는 인식의 변화가 가장 필요한것 같고요.선생님의 영상을 통해 많은 변화가 생기길 응원합니다.

  4. 언어치료실만 다녀오면 아이가 무언가 자극이 되어 말이 급속도로 늘어가는 걸 경험했어요. 치료실 가기 전날은 또 조금 떨어지고 받으면 훅- 올라오고..  좋아질 수 있고 치료될 수 있다면..  뭐든 할 수 있겠다는 마음으로 받다보니.. 오히려 고민하는 분들에게 권면하게 되네요. "때 되면 다 해!" 이 말이 오히려 더 독이었던 것 같아요.. 한국 사회에서의 '언어치료'의 이해도가 얼른 성숙하길 바래봅니다..!   과거에는 치아교정이 부끄러움이었고 '못난이'의 상징이었는데 요즘은 오히려 부르주아의 상징이라고 하더라고요.. 정말.. 내 아이가 이런 수준높은 치료를 받는게 저는 자랑스러워요~ 좋은 영상 감사합니다
