they're so brilliant for helping you stay active during pregnancy when you're at home you're watching TV you're eating dinner you're on the computer you can be on the ball can be rotating your hips hi this is Rachel again the English doula talking to you about pregnancy and staying active I like to recommend to all pregnant women that literally from the day you conceive you buy one of these a birth ball or a yoga ball they're so brilliant for helping you stay active during pregnancy when you're at home you're watching TV you're eating dinner you're on the computer you can be on the ball you can be rotating your hips doing some hip circles bouncing up and down the ball forces you to sit upright so you have good posture which helps back ache and then you can even take it to work with you when you go into labor the ball is brilliant it's a really good way to stay active to stay upright because the best thing during labor is to use gravity to help your baby to come down into your pelvis that's going to help you to have a much easier birth you can be on the ball throughout labor if you really like it doing hip circles bouncing up and down you can even get off the ball and lean across it use it as a pillow or something to lean into you can even have your partner or your doula sit on it while you're in a different position so they're invaluable I can't recommend them enough
