Pregnant woman dragged after robber snatches purse in Waikiki

A PREGNANT WOMAN WAS THE VICTIM OF A “PURSE-SNATCHING” IN WAIKIKI THIS MORNING. POLICE HAVE OPENED A ROBBERY INVESTIGATION .. BUT SO FAR, NO ONE’S BEEN ARRESTED. BRIGETTE NAMATA WENT TO WAIKIKI AND JOINS US NOW WITH MORE. BRIGETTE? MARISA, IT HAPPENED, OUTSIDE OF THE WAIKIKI AQUARIUM AFTER 10 A-M. I’M TOLD THE VICTIM IS BETWEEN 7 TO 9 MONTHS PREGNANT. A WITNESS TELLS ME THE WOMAN’S FEET WERE BLOODIED. Cathy Kahoohanohano was leaving the Waikiki Aquarium with her niece and grand- nephew when she noticed something unusual. Cathy Kahoohanohano: “Just as we got out the front door, we saw about 5 police officers walking towards a woman. An ambulance had just pulled into the aquarium driveway.” She heard something that confirmed her suspicion – Cathy Kahoohanohano: “I heard the female give a description: local male, 5 foot 7 to 5 foot 8.” – and grew more horrified when she looked down. Cathy Kahoohanohano: “I saw her feet. BRIGETTE: What did her feet look like? CATHY: Oh, her feet were just scraped…bloody. I didn’t notice blood anywhere else. My niece said to me, Oh auntie, I hope they didn’t try to steal her bag. She must have been dragged. That was awful to think that may have happened to her.” Sources say the pregnant victim was with her daughter when a man believed to be in his purse. Emergency officials say, the 35-year-old woman tried to hold on to her purse and was dragged. She suffered cuts to her knees, arms, and feet. in a white sedan. BOB FINLEY: “It’s terrible. It’s incomprehensible to me pregnant woman – or anybody, in Waikiki. I don’t know how to express my disgust with these people.” Waikiki Neighborhood Board chair Bob Finley says while property crime is common, purse snatchings in broad daylight aren’t. But he says the board is committed to keeping Waikiki safe. BOB FINLEY: “The new chief seems interest in Waikiki. We had a safety conference where she and her staff, vash, federal agencies got together and are working on a plan to interact with each other to prevent stuff like this. But I guess you can’t have a cop on every block.” THE VICTIM DID NOT WANT TO BE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL VIA AMBULANCE AT THE SCENE. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION ON THE PURSE SNATCHING SHOULD CALL

  1. Methed out mokes brah🤙🏽 Oahu is a bigger shithole then ever… thanks to Mexican n Asian dope smugglers plus politicians 🖕🏽its loco moco delight! Enjoy it tourists💩💩💩

  2. If lawmakers won't make stiffer punishment then why should I care. They get caught released to do it again and again and again and again and again and again. And…when sentenced to do hard time its usually a short term and won't be long before they're out again and again and again and again.

  3. Hawaii year after year, after year. Hawaii continues to vote democrats, and the islands continues to get worst.

  4. Moved here to escape the Mexican invasion of the mainland 10 years ago. The drugs and gangs and poor whites here are worse than any ghetto in the mainland. These white methheads make mainland crackheads look like Disney.

  5. 24/7 security patrols and watches. I know HPD is overwhelmed in Waikiki with high volume crime rates so lets up the enforcement by having private security 24/7
