Scripture for Postpartum Depression

hey guys! Shawn here. Today is going to be
my scriptures for the depressed mother so if you are dealing with insomnia or
sleeplessness or you don’t want get up off the couch because you sleep too much- and
depression in general or postpartum depression in general- and you are
looking for scriptures to help you make it through this time in your life then
this video is for you. While you are here I would love for you to consider
subscribing to this channel. I post new content on faith and motherhood every
Tuesday. But let’s get into today’s video. I will both lie down in peace and sleep
for you alone o Lord make me dwell in safety. If you are in the midst of
depression and you’re either experiencing insomnia or you’re sleeping way too much
and you can’t get off the couch or out of the bed- God wants you to be able to
properly care for yourself. And in order to do that you need sleep. God wants you
to be the most excellent mother you can be and in order to do that you need
sleep. But you need the kind of sleep that is restful, that is life-giving, that
gives you energy. Not the kind of sleep where you are in a funk and you don’t
want to get out of bed. God loves you and believes that you can be an excellent
mother. Now along with depression comes fear.
The story that I think of most when I think of fear has to do with Moses and Moses’
mother. Moses’ mother had just given birth to him in a time and place where it
was illegal and punishable by death in Egypt for Hebrews to have babies. The
Pharaoh had declared all babies born of Hebrews to be killed. How many sleepless
nights this mother must have had trying to prevent her baby boy from crying out
loud. I recognize that this mother was not struggling with postpartum
depression. But this mother was struggling with fear and anxiety and sleepless
nights. Through her prayers, God came up with a plan with her and with the help
of your doctor you too could also come up with a plan to help you get back to
being yourself and finding the rest that you need. Just as God came up with a plan for
Moses’ mother so that she could raise her baby by herself in a time when this
was unheard of God can help you overcome your fear, your anxiety, or depression.
Your sleeplessness as well. I too have struggled with postpartum depression
which you know if you have watched any of the other videos in the series. I will
link my postpartum depression stories in the card above for you to watch and the
playlist will be in the description box down below. I encourage you to check it
out if you need some more inspiration and you don’t want to be alone.
you need to know that there are other mothers out there struggling with the
same thing. I will see you in my next video. thanks for watching. bye.
