Woman, 45, gives birth to own grandchildren so gay son can become a dad

A grandmother gave birth to her own twin grandchildren so that her gay son could achieve his ambition to become a father  Valdira das Neves, 45, gave birth to the babies – a boy and girl called Noah and Maria Flor – at the Clinical Hospital of Ribeirao Preto in Sao Paulo on Tuesday  The twin’s biological father is Valdira’s son, Marcelo das Neves Junior, 24, a financial analyst, whose sperm was used to artificially inseminate eggs from an anonymous donor  Marcelo’s mother agreed to carry her son’s children as she knew he was gay and always wanted to become a father    The selfless grandmother, who is a teacher, had suffered a miscarriage at the age of 41 and began searching for a fertilisation clinic as she knew time was not on her side and the chances of her becoming pregnant again were slim  During the search for a clinic, Marcelo found out that he could become a father through artificial insemination and suggested to his mother that she could carry an embryo fertilised from a younger anonymous donor, increasing her chances of her becoming pregnant to 50 per cent  Gynaecologist Anderson Melo explained the main obstacle was in the fertilisation process due to the difficulty of implanting the embryo in the uterus   “In these cases, in addition to the supportive belly, which may be the mother or sister, aunt and cousin, daughter or niece, it is necessary to resort to an anonymous donor egg bank,” he told thathi com.    After three failed attempts, she became pregnant in January 2019.  Maria Flor was born nine days early weighing 4lb 90z (2 25 kg) while Noah was slightly smaller at 4lb 8oz (2.19kg).  Baby Noah was taken to the hospital’s Paediatric Intensive Care unit after the birth, as he had a little problem breathing, but his father Marcelo, assured well-wishers: “He will be with us later ”   He told thathi.com : “Almost four years ago, my mother became pregnant with my father, but my little sister was born at seven months and died a week later,” he said  She wanted another baby, but had little chance due to her age. In June 2017, the family talked as Marcelo wanted to be a father, and they hatched the plan  “We opted for my mother to raise her children, receiving an embryo fertilised by my semen and an egg from a donor,” he explained  The family, who live in Serrana, have cots, and an engraving with the twins’ names on it He described it as: “A dream come true.”  “Thank God we managed to get pregnant and we are living a dream, the feeling is wonderful,” he added
